Passado o Christmas, o Santa coitado, morrendo de calor dentro daquela roupa de veludo vermelho em pleno calor de 40 graus desse Rio de Janeiro. Qualquer dia eu comento a minha teoria sobre o Papai Noel brasileiro, sobretudo o carioca. Enfim, vamos ao que interessa: sonzera.

Consegui publicar minha lista de singer/songwriter no puddlegum, quem quiser ler ou indicar para um amigo gringão, entre aqui. Falando em Puddlegum, Flick, meu editor lá que além de fazer seu trabalho no puddlegum, produz bandas e seu último trabalho é o Darkroom.

Conheci o TEWBK esse ano, através de um amigo sueco. O disco é uma raridade na rede, mas garimpando você consegue. 3 músicas, feeling e pegada.

9- Maritime - Heresy and The Hotel Choir

Pra quem não conhece Maritime, é hora de conhecer. Maritime surgiu em 2003, com integrantes do Promise Ring e Dismemberment Plan. Um pouquinho mais barulhento que os anteriores, Heresy And The Hotel Choir, trouxe alguns hits como "For Science Fiction" e "Be Unhappy"

8- Maroon 5 - It Won't Be Soon Before Long

Pop sim, e daí? Discaço. Pra dançar e cantar sozinho em casa ou na naite.

7- Interpol Our Love To Admire

Eu sou fã assumida de interpol desde as épocas pré Capitol. Terceiro disco da banda vindo para salvar seu nome, já que o Antics [segundo disco da banda] decepcionou um pouco as minhas expectativas.Tão bom quanto debut dos caras, "Turn On The Bright Lights".

6- Boys Night Out - Boys Night Out

Conseguiram fazer um disco melhor que seu antecessor, o temático e arriscado Trainwreck. Você ainda vai ouvir falar muito desses caras, aguarde.

5- Logh - North

Logh é uma outra descoberta sueca do ano. North é disco lindo, com uma atmosfera profunda e triste.Ótimo para dias de chuva.

4 -QOSA - Era Vulgaris

Creio que o Queens Of Stone Age dispense apresentações, né? Barulhento, energético, dançante, tudo junto. Josh Homme se superou dessa vez.

3- Radiohead - In Rainbows

Radiohead bagunçou a industria fonográfica esse ano com todo direito cabível. Discaço, e quem comprou comprou, quem não comprou não compra mais.

2- Cheyenne - The Whale

Não conhecia a banda até ouvir o "The whale", disco esse que me apaixonei. Pegada pop/rock com um toque de country/folk. Redondinho, e ainda me pergunto como uma banda desse naipe ainda continua independente.

1 - The Forms - S/T

Esse ano quem levou a coroa foi o The Forms. Também não conhecia o som dos caras e me surpreendi. Ouça o terceiro disco da carreira dos caras e fique de cara com os som doido que eles fazem.

Resolvi fazer uma lista só para eles, já que o ano foi deles pra mim. Confira:

10- Robert Pollard - Coast To Coast Carpet Of Love

Bob Pollard era o líder autoritário e ditador do sensacional Guided By Voices. O disco Coast To Coast Carpet Of Love foi lançado em setembro de 2007 via Standard Gargoyle Decisions. Pra quem gosta de GBV, um prato cheio.

09 - Chuck Ragan - Feast Or Famine

Chuck Ragan era o vocalista bombadão e com voz mendiga do Hot Water Music. Em 2006 ele lançou sua carreira solo tocando o que seria mais ou menos um folk-punk, digamos até meio que parecido com o Rumbleseat, projeto paralelo nas épocas de Hot Water Music. Esse ano ele lançou material ao vivo, Los Feliz, num duo com Matt Skiba do Alkaline trio, mas não foi muito feliz - fazendo um trocadilho infame - compensando depois com o discaço Feast Or Famine. Destaque para as duas primeiras músicas, que já valem por todo disco.

08 - City and Colour - Live

Dallas Green era conhecido pela maioria como o "cara que não grita" da banda screamo Alexisonfire. Esse ano, Green lançou esse disco sensacional com um DVD. Ah, é uma coletânea com músicas dos discos "Sometimes" e "The Death Of Me" e um cover de "Happiness by the Kilowatt" do alexisonfire só em voz e piano, arrepiante. Esse cd/dvd rendeu ao nerdão grammy canadense de melhor artista alternativo em 2007.

07- Jonah Matranga - And

O quê falar do Jonah Matranga hein, minha gente? O cara onde bota o dedo faz coisa boa: Gartittude, Far, Onelinedrawing e por aí vai. Em parceria com os amigos Sam Siegler (Nightmare of You) e Ian Love (Cardia) o cara botou pra quebrar e mostrou mais uma vez que é um dos músicos mais fodas do mundo. Destaque para a música "You Always Said That You Hated San Francisco"

06 - Rocky Votolato - The Brag & Cuss

Com músicas como "Whiskey Straight" e "Postcards from Kentucky", o cara fala da solidão e a saudade das pessoas na estrada. Como a maioria dos discos efetivamente bons, ele precisa de tempo. Após algumas ouvidas, você sente a sensibilidade e o sentimento envolvido no disco.

05- Rob Crow - Living Well

Vocalista do Pinback que tinha tudo pra ser um escroto e não é. Esse disco tem tudo que eu não consegui achar no disco do Pinback esse ano.

04- Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger

Definitivamente se você estiver numa loja de cds e na dúvida do quê levar, com certeza leve o Easy Tiger pra casa, você não vai se arrepender.


03 - Bright Eyes - Cassadaga

"Cassadaga might be just a premonition of a place you're going to visit" Diz uma voz feminina no início do disco na primeira faixa "Clairaudients (Kill or Be Killed)". Esse disco é quase tão bom quanto o Lifted, na minha opinião. Destaques óbvio, para "Four Winds" e "Cleanse Song" que pra mim é uma música para o Tim Kasher. Isso fica explícito pra mim nos versos: : "Don't forget what you've learned/ All you give is returned/ And if life seems absurd/What you need is some laughter/ And a season to sleep/And a place to get clean/ Maybe Los Angeles,/Somewhere no one's expecting" Enfim, não achei nada de concreto falando sobre isso, mas não seria a primeira vez que Conor faria uma homenagem em forma de música ao seu amigo Tim: " Yeah, Tim, I heard your album /And it's better than good /When we get off tour I think we should/Hang and black out together" Bright Eyes - Nothing Gets Crossed Out - que faz uma referência ao disco "Black Out" do The Good Life que foi lançado em 2004, um pouco antes do Lifted. Genial, não?

02 - Jens Lekman - Night Falls Over Kortedala

Esse disco é uma obra-prima. Jens Lekman se superou dessa vez, lançando um álbum pessoal, que faz você rir e acompanhar sua dor também. Li em alguns lugares que ele usou um zilhão de samples nesse disco inclusive um do nosso Jorge Ben Jor na música " Kanske Ar Jag Kar I Dig" que em sueco significa "Acho que estou me apaixonando por você" e é uma das minhas faixas prediletas desse disco. O video de "Sipping On The Sweet Nectar" é uma graça e apesar de grande não desanime em assistir. No final tem uma surpresa que só os fãs do Jens vão entender.


01 - Kristofer Åström - Rainaway Town

Líder do Fireside, roubou o lugar do Jens na minha lista aos 45 minutos do segundo tempo. Sabe aquele disco que muitos acham sem graça e normal e você ama? Esse é o caso. Li em muitos lugares que o cara perdeu a identidade "dispensando" o Hidden Truck, sua outra banda de apoio, e eu penso exatamanto o contrário: disco redondinho, não dá vontade de avançar nenhuma faixa e viciante do início ao fim. Destaques para "A Little Insane" e "It's The Way".

Enquanto meu tempo vai embora, Jens Lekman leva um ukelele na cabeça:

Oh My God, Whatever, Etc.

O bagulho tá doido! Freneticidade total nesse fim de ano. Tou meio sumida aí, mil e um projetos mais as tarefas domésticas (sic) estão me deixando sem tempo completo. As noticias no panquenet estão em dia e meus posts esporádicos no puddlegum também. Essa semana escrevi sobre uma banda americana chamada Cheyenne, muito bacana mermo. Disco redondinho que tem feito minhas viagens diárias ao centro do Rio mais confortáveis e mais rápidas - pelo menos parecendo ser, óbvio.Quem quiser dar uma lida no artigo, baixar o disco, ver clipe e o caralho, vai lá no puddlegum e dá uma sacada.

Ontem teve show do Sting e eu nunca fui. "Jamaz vou", já diria Ricardo.Com um preço absurdo, não deu nem pra me imaginar naquele gramado do Maraca, cansada de ficar em pé, reclamando do som ou coisa que o valha, achando o show do Paralamas um saco e doida pra ir pra casa. Vi o show confortavelmente com excelentes companhias, tomando aquele Jack Daniel's diretamente do Tenesse num calor filha da puta que fez ontem aqui. Caralho, cara, não dá, sério. O show, pra mim, que viu de casa, pareceu entediante. Muito tempo e apesar de todos os hits, por mais fodas que sejam, cansaram. Ainda mais com a mídia atochando police no seu rabo até sangrar.Pensei, no fim do show: "Ainda bem que eu não fui".

Chris Cornell tá aí essa semana. Seria um show agradável de se comparecer. Além de gostosão, o maluco manda muito bem. Não sei ao vivo, nunca vi nada dele solo ao vivo e fico meio cabrebra em ver outras pessoas tocando Soundgarden. Apesar que eu não sei quem são os malucos que vêm com ele nessa turnê. Mas enfim, vamo aguardar os acontecimentos, mas acho que vou lá dar uma conferida no show do bruto.

Esses dias vamos ter The Used também. Vai ser a confraternização da comunidade emuxa carioca, né? Tou na pilha de ver também, mas nada de ingresso na mão ainda.

Falando em ingresso na mão, eis que fui comprar o ingresso pro show do interpol semana passada, acho. Fui lá na porra da Fundição Progresso, andei pra caralho da Central aos Arcos da lapa. "Aê, me vê um ingresso pro show do Interpol" "Ih colega, só até as 6 da tarde" TOMA. me fudi. O pior: só vende lá e meu horário até essa hora é comprometido. Resultado: como diria os pedreiros da puta que pariu, "Essa porra vai dar merda". Mas enfim, vamos aguardar os acontecimentos pra ver colé.

Minha listinha de melhores de 2007 já está fechada. Por enquanto, ainda não fiz em português, me falta tempo. Mas enfim, acredito que lá pro dia 20 já consigo colocá-las aqui.
